Have you spotted film crews out and about near your home or place of work recently, and wondered what they might have been filming for? Whilst we can’t give away everything, we can tell you a bit about the filming activity in the borough over the last since months and since FilmFixer took up the helm of the Film Office for Waltham Forest.
Whitestable Pearl (S3) paid a visit to the borough, filming some scenes in a private property and dressing the immediate surrounds to double as a Whitestable harbourside off-street.
We’ve also hosted the hotly anticipated Amandaland – a spin-off of the hit shot Motherland – for a shoot outside of a kitchen shop. The set included a skydancer (one of those wavy-armed inflatables), so it shouldn’t be too hard to pick out the scenes once the show airs.
There have been various ad campaigns that have chosen to film in the borough, including shoots for Tesco, EE, AirBnB, and the V&A. These sorts of shoots tend to last 12-hours or less, but are always a busy hive of activity!
We’re also pleased to have been able to support NSPCC’s Childhood Day Mile fundraising initiative, with some promotional footage of a family walking through Lloyd Park.
